Cameras have two distinct functions - one being to demonstrate to all road users that they are near to a collision hotspot and the other is to ensure the speed limit is adhered to.

Vehicles may be restricted to lower speed limits than those displayed dependant on their size (gross vehicle weight) and whether or not they are towing - please refer to the "speed limit information" and the "do you drive a van?" sections on the main menu for further clarification.

You are also likely to see some fixed cameras (some of which may be painted yellow) that are not listed on this site. These cameras do not meet the current criteria for inclusion in our operations. The sites are regulary monitored and should they meet the necessary criteria in the future they will be painted yellow (if not already) and listed on our web site.
