No Excuse

Dorset Police launched the 'No Excuse' road safety campaign in January 2010 to reduce the numbers killed and seriously injured on roads throughout Dorset.

'No Excuse’ is made up of one sergeant, six police constables and two police staff enquiry officers, supported by special constables. 'No Excuse' are in operation 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They could be anywhere, at any time, in any car.

The team  deploys to areas where the public have expressed concerns, to areas of high collisions and to areas identified through analysis as being of particular risk.

Education and enforcement efforts are directed at tackling the ‘fatal five’: drink and drug driving, not wearing a seatbelt, speeding, driver distractions and careless driving.

Keep up to date with what the team are up to by following them on Twitter and Facebook.
